Ostomy Management Specialist Course and OMS Certification Exam
Eligibility for OMS Exam:
The Ostomy Management Specialist (OMS) certification program is a week long course created and designed by multidisciplinary clinicians, with input from patients and caregivers. This program was created due to the overwhelming requests to WCEI®
by their Alumni, multidiscipline clinicians in nursing, medicine and therapy, along with industry that supports patients with ostomies. The message we heard, was there is just not enough ostomy nurses available to meet the needs of this under served patient population.
This comprehensive program starts out with online computer based pre-modules that you would complete at home prior to attending the live course onsite. Depending on the experience of the student these modules may take up to 15-30 hours to complete. Once your home-study is complete then you would attend our week long onsite classroom which includes lectures and hands-on skills laboratories and practice sessions.
Your instructors include a physician and nurses from diverse health care backgrounds, who are credentialed, dynamic and passionate about Ostomy Management. This will enhance your knowledge along with making a difference in your Ostomy patients life.
