Wound Assessment + Surface Selection
From the novice to the well-seasoned veteran, this seminar will provide a step-by-step approach for conducting the perfect wound assessment. This includes tissue types, wound etiologies, and pressure ulcer staging.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon conclusion participants will be able to:
- Describe the elements of a wound assessment
- Identify pressure ulcers utilizing NPUAP staging guidelines
- Identify tissue types commonly found in wounds
- Learn the use of support surfaces for prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers
- Examine the evidence for therapy support surface selection
