Webinar Description:
This session will discuss the goals of Palliative Wound Management. Our approach to wound care is less aggressive, and we encounter many challenges. We'll discuss those challenges, which include: wound odor, excessive bleeding, exudate, necrotic tissue, pain, periwound breakdown, itching, and body image and caregiver skills. We'll learn about some of the wounds encountered in palliative care such as Kennedy Terminal Ulcer, Marjolin, Kaposi Sarcoma, fungating wounds, pressure ulcers, and fistulas.

Target Audience: Nurses, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals interested in wound care.

About the Speaker:
Tracy has been practicing wound care for the last 30 years.  Tracy has practiced as a wound nurse in the acute care setting, long-term and assisted living, outpatient, and home care setting.  Tracy owned and operated a very successful outpatient wound clinic.  She is a board certified Legal Nurse Consultant and sits as an expert witness in wound care, long term care, skilled nursing facilities, etc.  Tracy has been teaching wound care and legal documentation courses for the last 15 years.  Tracy is a WCC and DWC.
