This session will enable the attendee to move beyond their understanding of basic wound care for pressure injury (PI) management and learn more about management of pressure injuries with biophysical and surgical options while managing pressure injury pain. This session will also discuss strategies for implementing education and quality improvement from the 2019 International Pressure Injury Prevention and Treatment Guidelines and how to incorporate PI prevalence and incidence studies as a component of your plan.
Target Audience: Nurses, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals interested in wound care.
About the Speaker:
Becky has practiced as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse for over 25 years. She has been a board certified WOC nurse since the year 2000 in a variety of healthcare settings. She recently started her independent nurse consulting business. She is a published author in the Journal of Ostomy Wound Management. She has presented and authored numerous educational posters at national conferences on the topic of wound and ostomy care. Becky is passionate about preventative care and improving the quality of life for patients and their families.
