Webinar Description:
Infrared technology has been utilized in the medical field as a non-contact and non-invasive tool for measuring thermal temperature changes. These images can provide wound care clinicians with valuable information on chronic wounds that maybe stuck in the inflammatory phase of healing. Additionally, it may help determine if appropriate physiological patterns are achieved for selected interventions.
Target Audience: Nurses, physical therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals interested in wound care.
About the Speaker:
Frank Aviles is a physical therapist, certified lymphedema therapist, certified wound specialist, hyperbaric technician, and an MLD/CDT instructor in Natchitoches Louisiana. He serves as the Wound Care Service Line Director for Natchitoches Regional Medical Center (NRMC) involved with wound care practices across the continuum of care. Presently, he also leads the Hospital Acquired Injury committee which CMS has recognized the success of our pressure injury prevention program. In the past, Frank has successfully developed a multidisciplinary skin and wound care program at a large sub-acute facility. Frank serves as the American Physical Therapy Association wound management special interest group practice chair, hospital board representative for the Community Healthcare Education Network, physical therapist/ wound care consultant and educator for LHC group, and editorial board member and “Let’s Be Frank” columnist for Today’s Wound Clinic.
