Adapting to life with an ostomy is helped by choosing the right appliance and accessories. In this one-hour session we look at choosing the right products for an ostomate's stoma placement, skin care needs and lifestyle.
About the Speaker:
As an RN with over 20 years of wound and ostomy care experience, Joy has practiced in a variety of hospital and home care settings. She is a successful nurse entrepreneur, and is board certified by the WOCN as a CWOCN, and by the NAWCO® as a WCC and OMS. Her informal and down-to-earth teaching methods enable students to learn easily in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Joy is the lead instructor of our Ostomy.

Discuss at least 5 clinical, physical, and social considerations when choosing an ostomy pouching system
Identify assistive pouching techniques/ interventions for skin folds, retracted stoma, and soft abdomen
