Clinical practiced guidelines recommend that all patients with diabetes should be screened annually at a minimum to establish their risk of foot ulceration and amputation. This session will provide step by step instructions and documentation forms for performing a comprehensive diabetic foot screening based upon the American Diabetes Association® Foot Care Task Force guidelines. About the Speaker:
Donna has over 35 years of nursing experience, an extensive background in long-term care, and holds board certification in wound, ostomy and diabetic wounds. As a Registered Nurse, Donna also holds a master’s degree in Health Care Administration. She is a well-known editor in the field of wound care education, and is Editor-in-Chief of Wound Central. In addition to writing WCEI® education materials, she has authored several books and manuals on the topic of wound care.
