Dr. Allen Zagoren is a board certified general trauma surgeon with specialties in critical care, interventional nutrition, and chronic and acute wound management with over 45 years of experience. He has served as the Medical Director for the Center for Advanced Wound care and the Wound Care Collaborative at Unity Point Health, Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa, as well as Professor and Chairman of the department of Public Administration of Drake University.
Dr Zagoren holds national prominence in his specialty areas with multiple published papers, texts, and book chapters in surgery, interventional nutrition, as well as nutrition and wound healing. He also holds adjunct academic appointments as Adjunct Professor of Surgery and Nutrition at Des Moines University and was former Professor of Surgery and Nutrition, Assistant Dean of Research and Clinical Affairs at Western University, Pomona California, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine, UMDNJ, now Rowan University).
He is curretnly emeritus professor of Public Administration at Drake University with expertise in medical ethics and health policy.
