Joy Hooper is a dedicated RN with over 23 years of experience as a certified wound, ostomy, and continent nurse in South Georgia. As a nurse entrepreneur and board-certified by WOCNCB and NAWCO, she has made significant contributions to the field, including developing the Anatomical Apron, the first teaching tool designed for nurses to explain ostomy surgery.
Joy opened an ostomy clinic, founded the South Georgia Ostomy Support Group, and advocated for digestive diseases in Washington, D.C. Honored as the UOAA 2019 WOCN of the Year, she is also the lead clinical instructor for national ostomy certification courses, demonstrating her commitment to enhancing care and education in her community.
