Become Certified in Diabetic Wound Management!

The diabetic wound management program focuses on overall diabetic wound care and promotion of an optimal wound healing environment including prevention, limb salvage, therapeutic and rehabilitative interventions. Board Certification as a DWC® (Diabetic Wound Certified) is available through the NAWCO® (National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy®) for eligible candidates by examination after completion of the course.

Our courses are taught by a  Board Certified DWC Physician that is passionate about caring for the diabetic patient.  The course is available in a one week classroom setting or online as a home study program. This course will enhance your knowledge in this field along with making a difference in your Diabetic patients life. 

Course Content and Agenda

Eligible for DWC Exam
Anyone can take the course. However, only those health care professionals who meet the following NAWCO eligibility requirements can take sit for the board certification examination:

1.  Current, unrestricted license as an LPN/ LVN, RN, NP, PT, PTA, OT, MD, DPM, DO, PA
2.  Attend the approved "Diabetic Skin and Wound Management Course.”
3.  Can meet ONE of the following requirements:
      a) Currently holds an accredited certification in wound care
           (WCC®, CWS®, CWCN®, CWON®, CWOCN®)
                                                    OR...
      b) Documented active involvement in the care of diabetic patients, or in management,
          education or research directly related to diabetes while actively licensed for at least two
          (2) years full-time or four (4) years part-time within the past five (5) years.
